Welcome to Thickskin! On this blog I hope to be able to start conversations that will lead to a better understanding of the social and political issues we face. My opinions will, from time to time, offend some individuals but that is not my intent. I will strive to put forward my thoughts and positions that I have come to based on my experiences over the years.
I am married and I have three children. I love the outdoors and animals and rarely meet a person I don’t like. Having said that, I have found that some people (fortunately a very small minority) seem to derive pleasure from being unhappy or making others unhappy.
Please take me at my word when I say that all comments made on this blog will not be made with any intent to offend anyone. If you are easily offended please go somewhere else. I welcome all opinions from all sides of an argument. My goal is to become a forum where not only do the participants feel free to post their counter opinions but they also check their emotions and understand opposing comments. I think it is time for us to start listening to each other and stop talking over each other. Let us use our own thoughts and not the ones put into our heads by individuals or organizations with agendas.
Let us try to keep our emotions in check as much as possible and see where the ride takes us. I don’t expect everyone to agree on the subjects but I do expect you to be respectful to those that join the conversation. Thank you for visiting and contributing to the process.
